- MATCH TRIM COLOUR
For most writing instruments, stock imprint colours have been developed to match the trim colours or complement cap or barrel colours. Simply request a "match trim" imprint.
- ADDITIONAL STOCK IMPRINT COLOURS
In addition to "match trim" imprint colours, the stock imprint colours shown below are available (colours shown below are available for most Solis by BIC writing instruments). These imprint colours are for reference and ordering purposes and may not be exact representations of the actual colours. These colours do not necessarily match the trim colour of our writing instruments.
- NOTE: Colours may not be exact. Different products and printing processes cause slight variations in final imprint hue. Every effort will be made to match colours as closely as possible. The colours shown throughout this catalogue are not intended to match the PANTONE Colour Standards. PANTONE is a registered trademark of Pantone, Inc.
- ADDITIONAL STOCK METALLIC IMPRINT COLOURS
Stock metallic imprint colours are available at no additional charge, and are ideal for products that have metal trim.

Custom imprint colours, other than stock colours shown above, are available. Please submit PANTONE Matching System (PMS) number. We will match to the PMS coated (C) stock only (Example: PMS 203C).
- REGISTERED IMPRINT LOCATION
The imprint location on BIC Clic Stic and Round Stic may vary slightly with a one-colour imprint only. A positioned imprint location is available upon request for an additional charge. Please contact your distributor for pricing.
Layout & Hard Copy
Always provide a layout and a hard copy of your art so that we will know exactly where you would prefer art to be placed. Please provide a colour composite for multi-colour images. VECTOR ART is preferred, Photoshop PSD layered files are acceptable for photographic images. Text should always be VECTOR ART for sharpest imprint.

Minimum line weights & type sizes
Keep all lines .5 point or thicker. Text can be as small as .6 point on all pens. Anything smaller will not be legible.
Digital Colour Graphics
Layout
Your artwork should be laid out at 100% of size. INCLUDE ALL BLEEDS. Colours or images may not exactly align at seam. Seam overlap may result in a slightly darker image.
Bleeds
Art intended to print to the edge must extend 3mm beyond the Image Area.
Full Colour Images
Full colour images should be supplied as digital art in the CMYK colour mode. Please DO NOT send photographs or printed pieces as art. Photos usually need high resolution imaging and colour correction which can delay your ship date and cost. All RASTER images should be 300 dpi (1200 dpi for bitmaps). Include all PLACED or LINKED images with your art file.
Colour Matching
Digital Colour Graphics are printed with 4-colour process inks as opposed to spot colour inks. ALL COLOURS will be converted to the 4-colour process equivalent. Although an exact match cannot be guaranteed, we will get as close as possible. If colour is critical, we recommend that you get a colour proof. We convert ALL colour files for Digital Colour Graphics to the CMYK colour mode, because these items are printed with 4-colour process inks. Art in the RGB colour mode or with SPOT COLOURS (PMS COLOURS) can cause a colour shift. It is best that you make the conversion BEFORE sending the art.
Imprint Areas
When creating your own custom Digital Colour Graphics background, please visit www.bicgraphic.com.au to download templates. Use these when creating your layout and artwork. All text and essential information should be inside the "text area". The "image area" should contain only background images (any text could be cut off). The "clip area" should be filled with background image or colour, but copy in this area should be avoided.

Please Note: If artwork has a white background it will appear more translucent than opaque.
Stock Cap Slogans
Add a Stock Cap Slogan to the Executive Collection by BIC Sheaffer , or Solis by BIC . All barrel imprints will default to Snell or Times font unless otherwise specified.
